Flotation machine working principle

Author:

Flotation machine is an important mineral processing equipment, its working principle is based on the buoyancy difference of minerals and impurities in the ore in the water. Flotation machines are usually composed of potential tanks, impellers, mixers, adsorption tanks and slag collection tanks.
First, the crushed and ground ore is mixed with the reagent to form a slurry. The slurry is then introduced into the potential tank of the flotation machine, and the rotating impeller in the potential tank throws the slurry upward, so that the ore is fully mixed with air and chemicals.
In the mixer, the bubbles are fully injected into the slurry and attached to the ore particles to form buoyancy. These bubbles and ore particles form a flotation system whose buoyancy is greater than the gravity of the liquid phase, causing it to rise to the liquid surface and form scum. Those ore particles that have no buoyancy or whose sinking speed is greater than the rising speed are deposited at the bottom of the tank and form waste slag.
Finally, the floating scum is collected in the slag collection tank, and the sinking slag is discharged out of the machine. This completes the separation process of minerals and impurities in the ore, thereby obtaining the desired ore extract.
In general, the flotation machine realizes the effective separation of ore by using the buoyancy difference of minerals and impurities in the water, and provides important help for the ore extraction process.
