Working principle of metallurgical rotary kiln

Metallurgical rotary kiln is an equipment that puts materials into a rotating cylinder and makes the materials heat treated at high temperature through the rotation of the rotating cylinder. The working principle of metallurgical rotary kiln can be simply summarized as the following steps. First, in the preheating zone, the material is heated to a certain temperature to evaporate moisture and volatile substances; secondly, in the drying zone, the material continues to heat up and dry; then In the reduction zone, part of the oxide is reduced to metal; then the calcination zone, the material is further heated and chemically reacted; finally, the cooling zone, the material is cooled to room temperature.
